We decided to stay here for a bit longer, until the end of the week.. Its a nice location.. Dan and Vikki who run Langley Mill Boatyard are very friendly and more than happy to help where they can.
There are a few boats that come and go, but not a lot of traffic, considering were on the last winding hole of the canal..
Plus, with a good signal I can get some work done (and so can the Enchanted Annex’s marketing assistant!) – and get some updates to the web site done (which have been long delayed and are well overdue as I have never really liked how the map and the GPS tracks are shown)..
Come Friday.. were going to fill the diesel tank & water tank from the boat yard here, empty the black tank and get ready for an early start on Sat.. on course for Burton upon Trent on the Trent and Mersey Canal..
By this weekend, all the locks on the T&M should be open and we have a clear route through to North Wales via the Trent & Mersey Canal, the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal, the Shropshire Canal.. and finally the Llangolen Canal and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct..
And we may well be back.. the prices to have the boat blacked here are extremely reasonable.. and this is one in a few boat yards that are happy for live-aboards to stay aboard whilst the boat is dry-docked..
