One Week On…

by Keith September 16, 2017 No Comments

So.. one week on.. 7 days after selling the house and moving aboard our narrowboat. Starting to get settled..Many thanks to friends and family for helping with this massive change in lifestyle..

Many runs up and down the M1 to store excessive stuff.. many traffic jams.. stowed away as much as we think we need for now..

Would I change anything.. possibly 1 thing.. where we started out from. We (or i) thought what could possibly be wrong with Yelvertoft Marina.. good reviews.. re-blacked the boat at a reasonable cost.. all seemed a good place to start. . Then we arrived with the kids.. “Oh no.. we don’t allow children. You have to leave.. ” So the best laid plans of being there to get items delivered and a car park to hand for a week or two went to pot..

After vacating the marina.. welcomed by the folks just up the cut at a local 14 day mooring as if we had just escaped from a prison camp!

But hey.. things happen for a reason.. how can anyone complain about being on the canal.. listening to the birds in the trees.. got the car parked reasonably close.. post office, pub and co-op close-in.. 14 days to get stuff done.. occasional other car in the distance.. ( certainly better than listening to the cocoon sect moaning about kids being near them.. bunch of moany old …… )
