A services run to extend a stay – on the K&A

by Keith October 4, 2019 No Comments

The nights are drawing in, its starting to get colder.. but we haven’t broken out the fire quite yet.. It’s still summer until we do.. and were hanging onto “summer” for as long as we can! 😀

Were making a quick run off the K&A, onto the Thames and back again to get a full water tank and a pump out – as were staying here for a little while whilst we still have a hire car.

Anna has a fair this coming weekend, and it’s CC’s birthday next weekend.. so the car is the important thing rather than mooring. It’s also giving me a chance to get some overdue visits in the the DC during the week so I can prep for some major upcoming jobs that I need to be in attendance for (obviously cant go into details here..  but being able to do 5 concurrent days in the DC is very helpful!).

It’s also very good being here as there is a DHL Express service point walking distance from the boat.. and when you have a stack of returns that need to go back to the manufacturer..  I can fill the boot of the car with the broken parts, come back and not have to do a 10 mile detour just to drop the boxes off for shipment back to the Netherlands!

I did get an email from CRT a few days ago informing me of suspected none movement – but I believe this is a mistake as the chances are that they have not spotted us on the Thames for the last few weeks – as its not a waterway that they monitor – so its likely they saw us here at the end of last month, and now – and presumed that we have been here for the time between the two sightings.  Either way, email has been sent, we will see what they say..

Plus..   I got the weekend to work on the site whilst Anna is away.. lets see if I can get caught up on the posts that are missing..  as 5 months of non-posting is a little excessive !!!

Were going to be here until the 15th..  so may need another water run yet.. but we will see..

Update: CRT came back and have confirmed that the notice has been withdrawn, and are happy that our cruising log which I submitted to them matched their observations perfectly, so have accepted that we were on the Thames in between sightings and not on the K&A – another reason (not only for the web site) that I keep a log of each time we move.. so we can prove where we were on a given day..  or prove where we were not in this case 😉   Either way..  it’s all good as suspected 🙂
