Soulbury Bridge (#107) 14 day mooring to Leighton Buzzard (Bridge 115A/115C)

by Keith July 12, 2020 No Comments

So..  Cat wrangling..   Tabitha is being a pain once more, and it took a while for her to come out of the hedge and get back onboard!  So much so that we didn’t get moving until 2pm! but – we only have a few hours to do today – so as long as luck is with us, and there is mooring for us to use, we should be in Leighton Buzzard and at a good spot for a few days.

It didn’t take long, as the hire boaters are out again to find a traffic jam..   I’m not sure what was going on as I couldn’t see clearly from this distance, but three boats, all zig-zagging about, one reversing, one in the hedge on the far side..  time to slow down and stop if needed..  looks like summer is finally here! 😀

Eventually past The Wyverne Shipping company, one of the sources of all the hire boats. At least there are plenty of people wanting a “stay-cation” – so hopefully after the lock down these hire companies can get some turnover done to survive the rest of the season!

And finally onto Leighton Buzzard. And back out again! There was no mooring free in the centre, Anna said we should pull up on the end of the 4 hour spot outside Tesco’s – but I didn’t like the area, which was not exactly cat friendly, and as Shaemus likes to impersonate road cones, I didn’t want to risk having to recover him from the main road!

Eventually we found a spot well outside of Leighton Buzzard with armcoe to chain upto..   its going to be a fair walk back to the shops and the post office, but needs must, and at least we have a reasonable signal!
