Hurst Park to Walton on Thames

by Keith May 19, 2018 No Comments

Needed to get a pump out today – so back to Molesey lock as they have a pump out station. The pump out charge on the Thames is still £10..  a very good price – and possibly still not enough to cover the maintenance of the machines – but I’m not going to complain (between £16 and £20 at marinas..).

Set off from the lock, back past Hurst Park and on to and though Sunbury Lock. There were a few other boats sharing the lock with us..  Being the royal wedding day.. there are a lot of boats out and about, most decorated with bunting.

The lock crew were having a nice day of it today :

( Could be a re-made carpenters album sleeve that ! 🙂 )

Eventually got through and past the weir and to the mooring.  Helpfully..  there were cabin cruisers all spaced out along the mooring – with gaps for other cabin cruisers – but there was no gap big enough for us.. so stuff it..  pulled in at the end – with just enough to get the stern close to the bank so dogs and cats can get on and off – pinned out the bow – through the overgrown foliage.

Tiggy seems to like it here though..
