Newbury, Bridge 56, 14 day mooring to Kintbury 48hr Mooring (Water Point!)

by Keith August 14, 2021 No Comments

Were still waiting on the lock to be fixed..  but they are making progress…  ( Details Here )

So for now.. were heading back to Kintbury to get some water in the tank, to do so though.. we need to turn around as were pointing in the wrong direction..   So it’s down the lock, spin round and back in and up again!

On past Victoria Park again.. and they have a fair on today!

Under Newbury Bridge.. and that really stupid lock landing beyond that we don’t fit on – but it’s as big as it’s going to get as there is no chance to extend it – so bow and centre lines, with the stern hanging over the river feed into the canal, hoping that the wash from the lock emptying doesnt throw the boat around again!

And the lesser spotted Anna has joined us today for this one 😀

Eventually, were past the horse boat.. again 😉

..and in Kintbury – with no room for us to moor up.   Perfect!  We have a table booked at the Dundas arms for a little while from now..  but if there is no room – what can we do!

Pulled into the water point to top the tank off – and there was obviously some confusion – as someone (no names) let the cats out whilst we were at the water point..   And there gone!  Into the hedge and nothing to be seen.

So thats it then..   I’m not moving off without the cats..   the tank took a while to fill and it was starting to get dark – so I called it.. were staying on the water point all night and moving off early tomorrow morning. Hopefully, we don’t cause an issue..
