Crofton to Wootton Rivers

by Keith June 17, 2018 1 Comment

As Tiggy came back at 4am this morning – were good to go!

Stopped at the water point to fill the water tank, as were running low after staying put for several days..  and we have also had to break out the emergency porta-loo as the toilet tank is full and were a few days away from a pump out station..

We got several locks on, avoiding a sunken boat..

Once through those locks, were at the summit of the K&A. Downhill from now on…

And through Bruce Tunnel.. ( 458m long )

( From the stern looking forward..   daylight, tunnel light (pointing starboard!) and the red and green navigation lights )

Once out the other side, we passed Burbage Wharf House

A few more locks – which all had very low water levels between them – there was a mooring here that I though we could stop at, but with these levels, we may not get moving again – so onward to Wootton Rivers Bottom Lock mooring and water point.

Were moored at the end of the line – furthest from the lock, and the hose can just reach the tap without moving the boat (awesome!) so we can top off the tank tomorrow, or Tuesday – depends when we leave this 48 hour mooring.
