The plan today was to get to Abingdon-on-Thames – the current against us whilst moving upstream had other ideas..
And no.. before you ask.. there are not a lot of people emptying out their bath water into the Thames.. the froth is from the water getting aerated over the weir! – we know.. being moored at Goring for a few days.. the bow of the boat was covered with the stuff.. until the rain washed it all away!
And the view of today.. rain.. wind.. grey skies.. soggy clothes.. and general Blurgh..
It was starting to get dark – and Abingdon is still 2 hours away.. so that’s it.. this is as far as we get today. The signs do state that the mooring at the end of the lock landing is chargeable – and we need to see the lock keeper.. but as there is no lock keeper and the lock is on self service.. I guess its free..
