Hennef Way to Clattercote (14 day mooring)

by Keith October 7, 2021 No Comments

Were going to make a run to Rugby and stay there for a week or two – two main reasons for this..  We want to stay around the Banbury area for the winter – I don’t have the funds to pay for the full winter mooring stay until February – so we need to leave the area for a little while to “reset” the 14 days in one area, and to be seen that we are travelling – so were going back to Rugby for a little while.

When we get back around here, it will be closer to November (when the winter moorings start) when a lot of the locks around this way start to be closed – so if were back in Banbury for November, were going to need to stay around here as we cant really get anywhere else as were going to be locked in.

Talking of maintenance..  After pulling in at Cropredy marina for a new 6Kg Gas bottle, this one is being taken out for the whole of November..  so we need to be back through this one before they take it out for 4 weeks..

but chances are, the workmen will still have plenty of spectators from the local field!

Once through Elkington’s lock, time to pull into the moorings at Clattercote for the night as this is enough for today, and it looks like rain on the way..
