Another quick relocation yesterday after Anna arrived back from a party at Jo Jo’s.. We had to wait as there are rowers all over the place practising and training.. so waited for them to clear before pulling out.
Staying here today (with luck) as were expecting Lisa and Sarah to pop in and say hello as were close and within sensible driving distance at the moment. Suns out.. batteries topped off.. and more tinctures being bottled..
Cats are loving all the attention – being this close to a popular river and the town centre.. almost everyone walking past keeps stopping to stroke the cats laid out across the roof of the boat sunbathing.. some have even taken photo’s – so Tabitha may be in someones else’s blog today also 🙂
Plenty of sail boats and canoes around today.. but not the “training / rowing club” types.. these are all public rent-a-boats for a Sunday! (And the large trip boats don’t like them getting in the way.. they seem to be running a bit quicker today.. and are certainly creating more wash than on Saturday – my paintwork is a testament to that!)
It is such a different aspect to the canal.. on the canal, people do stop and say hello but realise that the boat is you’re home and treat it with that respect.. with the Thames.. it seems you have become part of the tourist attraction.. and people believe they can fiddle with, point at and even climb onto the boat to rub the buddah’s tummy (who is located on the bow of the boat looking out at where were going).. cheeky bugger.. you don’t see walking up to your house/garden and messing with your ornaments do you!
Onto Hampton Court soon.. and will be back Kingston way so Anna can get a bus to the doctors next week for a pre-arranged appointment. Hopefully, we can stay clear of the silliness of next week, with the Thames restrictions in force at Windsor for the Royal Wedding..
