Abingdon-on-Thames to East Street Moorings (Oxford)

by Keith September 3, 2021 No Comments

After another surprising night of no bangs against a concrete wall, were aiming for the East street moorings today – the location we were stuck in for 6 weeks a few years ago – mainly as it’s Friday, and we fancy a take-away from Station Kebabs! – so let’s hope there is room for us!

A gentle run through Abingdon Lock, and no need to stop for water or a pump out on this run..

And it looks like not all “permanently overstaying” boats survived the storms of recent times…

And that was not the only one..   Once past Iffley Lock.. another..

Down past the rowing clubs of Oxford..

And onto Folly Bridge..   time for me to take over on this bit..   Were waiting for the large commercial trip boat to finish moving about and for the rowers to get turned – then we can get through the gap, ,under the bridge and round the right turn!

Once through there, its a small run to Osney Lock, and then onto tonight’s mooring – just enough room for us to get in !
