Hampton Court to West Molesey

by Keith May 15, 2018 No Comments

Another morning run needed today, from one 24 hour mooring to another..

All the cats were back on late last night, so we didn’t have to hang around setting off. Pulled out and made our way to Molesey Lock, up and through the lock and onto the landing stage which has a water point.

No need to worry about the hose at this one ( as we are still 1/2 stock on hosepipe since one of the two extendable one’s split last week – and not had chance to get a new one yet), as there was one ready for us to use..  A good large one and the rather empty 700 litre tank was full in about 30 minutes..  that has to be a record for us! (From empty to full – on a good day – its about an hour.. on a bad one.. 2 or 3 depending on how slow the water pressure is!)

Just as we topped off the water tank, another boat pulled in to full theirs.. so off we went.. hoping to find a mooring in Hampton.. but no joy..   onto West Molesey – and this one was free.. but there is a 6 foot wall to deal with..  and no rings.. so we need to pin out on this one (also wrapped a rope around the tree – just in case as the rear pins would not go in very far..  )

Tomorrow – back to Kingston so Anna can get a bus to West Ewell – and Thursday – back out past Hampton Court once more – and possibly straight through – not sure yet.
