Llangollen Canal , Llangollen Canal (Prees Branch)

Whixall Moss Junction to Whitchurch Branch

by Keith May 26, 2019 No Comments

Time to move on – but first..  a run down the Prees Branch to Whixhall Marina as we need some diesel, and a full water tank would be nice..

It’s a little bit narrow on this stretch..

LLangollen Canal – Prees Branch

And into the marina basin..   I can see a spot.. but with these side winds.. this should be fun!

Now thats done..  back out – past the “Holiday chalets” 🙂

Holiday chalets just outside of Whixall Marina

.. and other more permanently moored boats

“Maple Leaf” moored on the Prees Branch.

There was also a couple of holiday hire boats here, that were shuffling around – once were all through the lift bridge – its the usual “First to the bridge lets the rest through” for the rest of the bridges on the LLangollen – all the way through to Whitchurch.

Seriously.. we do all help each other through lift bridges..  no Bull..  ( forgive the pun! )

Once at Whitchurch..  unlike last time (as you cant turn at the entrance).. no need to reverse in..   as were going to be going north – and it’s easier to reverse out and stay pointing in the right direction..   so were here at the start of the arm for tonight.
