Leighton Buzzard (Bridge 115A/115C) and back again!

by Keith July 15, 2020 No Comments

Were going to move on today – Anna and the kids don’t fancy a walk to Tesco’s, so were going to do the run with the boat, and get a good big shop in. It’s not the walk there, it’s the walk back carrying everything as the four wheel trolley only now has 2 wheels, and it’s a pain to use. The plan – to move on once that’s done and get some more distance between us and the Thames reduced!

First thing, head further south and turn around!  There is a winding hole just before the lock that we can turn in and then come back north to Tesco’s

Now that were heading in the right direction..   back past where we were moored, and onto Tesco’s.  Pull in once there, as there is a gap just big enough for us on the 4 hour mooring..  and send everyone out to get bits done whilst I get on with some work!

It took several hours, and a few trips back and forth to get everything needed without carrying too much in one go..   so much so that we were here a good few hours.

Once set, its back down to Wyverne Shipping to turn around, past Tesco’s and pull in at the water point there.  I have a meeting to attend – so Dawson is getting on with moving the boat! 🙂

Once the water tank is full..  it’s time to move on again – but, that thought of going past where we were moored has been dismissed, and were going to pull back into where we were for tonight. It’s getting late, and even though it was a short day (if you can call 6 hours short!) it been a hard day!

Got back to where we were – our spot has been taken..  so were pulling up a bit short, the other side of the boat that has not moved thus far!

( In the morning, when I took this, the boats ahead had moved off, but we decided not to shuffle the boat up as the cats were out and settled.. )

And.. talking of settled cat’s Shaemus does like the radiator cat bed, when out on the stern deck!
