Grand Union Canal

Stanton Low Park / St. Peters Church (remains) to Bletchley

by Keith July 2, 2020 No Comments

Another morning of moving with luck, and there is yet more rain on its way – let’s see how long I can stay dry for today..

Two cats in.. two still out..  found them both hiding in the bow..    in you go.. time to move!

And on route – a very interesting custom paint-job on this boat..

And..

And.. more post to get sent out.. so it’s another stop at a post office..  Once that was done, were off again…

And more canal side artwork..

And on the other side..  a cut out used for mooring, but it’s also the start of the proposed Bedford & Milton Keynes Waterway (yes – they are still constructing and restoring new and old waterways)

Various businesses are also hosted from boats, there’s a tattoo parlour in this one!

And..  it’s never a good sign when you start seeing boats moored with their windows boarded up..

And another rare sight, a lock with a swing bridge in the middle of it.  There is one other that I know of – on the K&A..  this makes two..   not sure how many more on the network there are..  but we will see given time.

And its through Fenny Stratford..

And onto tonight’s mooring in Bletchley.

Were going to be here a few days, no doubt the cats will be thankful of staying put next to such a large park – hopefully, we don’t end up with more dead rabbits in the bow..
