Blacking at Langley Mill

by Keith July 28, 2022 No Comments

We got here!   On Sunday night – the evening before were due to be dry-docked..  but we got here!   Not that I was panicking or anything, and after getting here, I got the email from CRT that the section that was closed will be re-opened at 7:30 tomorrow morning..  really – its usable ?..  would never have guessed 😀

Waters gone.. time to clean off the old crap

Old stuff cleaned off.. Not too bad underneath thankfully..
Two coats of blacking.. one coat of silver with one more to go…

I know I’m on holiday to get this done.. but going to need another to get over this one at this rate!

One last coat of silver tomorrow..  then the water is being let back in on Saturday to re-float the boat.

There are still some more things to do – but as long as the outside is done, we can do the rest at the mooring just outside the dry-dock next week if I get chance to..  and if there is room as more and more boats are realising the canal is open and there all ending up here on the only three moorings that are in the basin..
